About Dough by Doug

Doug has been baking since 1981. Doug owned Diamond Bakery on Fairfax and has been a ubiquitous presence in the Santa Barbara Jewish community cooking for events of all kinds. Doug is known for his Challah and wants to make it readily available to the community that has come to know it as The Challah. Check out the website and get signed up for the mailing list to be among the first to know what is coming out of the oven. Located inside DEUX Bakery on Reddick Street, Doug offers the Jewish specialties on Fridays while the exquisite pastries and breads of DEUX are available Tuesday - Saturday.

Doug is not a warm and fuzzy person but he's a HELL of a chef and baker. I've never had any of his food that wasn't fantastic. So glad to see him bringing his talents and traditions to SB!

Doug is the best baker on the West and East Coast. From years of experience around the world, he has perfected the perfect Jewish Rye, Apple Strudel, Chalah, Apricot Rugala, Almond Macroons, and so much more. What ever Doug touches is pure culinary magic. We are lucky to have him in Santa Barbara.
